Spring ephemerals are a beloved and crucial part of any garden design, providing a much-needed pop of color and growth in late winter when it’s needed most. There is a great diversity of spring ephemerals that will grow in the Pacific Northwest, taking advantage of the extra light available before deciduous trees leaf out. In this class, Heronswood Garden Director Dan Hinkley will explore the biology, identification, and garden uses of some of our favorite spring ephemerals here at Heronswood. A portion of this class will be held outside; please dress accordingly.
